MetuNCCrew Ranks 1st Across Turkey and 210th Worldwide in the IEEEXtreme Programming Competition 15.0!
The team “MetuNCCrew” representing METU Northern Cyprus Campus has been awarded 1st place across Turkey and ranked as the 210th worldwide in this year’s IEEEXtreme, the 24-hour long hackathon and competitive programming challenge. Our university has been participating in the competition since 2014 when the IEEEXtreme 8.0 was held.
The IEEEXtreme 15.0, which was held on 23rd October 2021, became the largest-scale event of its kind to date with over 5,500 registered teams, over 1,500 supervisors from more than 60 countries and 630 schools joining the organization and, in consequence, the IEEEXtreme committee was not able to release the results of the competition earlier.
The METU NCC team “MetuNCCrew” took the first place in the rankings across Turkey, followed by the teams Crescent (METU), YAOzU (Özyeğin University), TapirLab (İstanbul Ticaret University), and OTM (University of Turkish Aeronautical Association) respectively. The team “MetuNCCrew” was proctored by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Enver Ever. In the IEEEXtreme 15.0, METU Northern Cyprus Campus was represented by Zeki Can Budin, Mustafa Aygün, Oğuz Kağan Altaş, Yahya Arakil, and Askar Bozcan.
