NORTHERN CYPRUS CAMPUS

Council of Student Representative Elections 3. Round on Today

Since its foundation in 1956, Middle East Technical University has been shaped by the collaborative effort of its students, faculty members, staff and alumni, who have become the architects of this exquisite structure that has been an inspiration for many other institutions. It is our common ambition for our campus to progress in a similar way through contribution of all of its members and we wish that our dynamism goes beyond the model of our Ankara campus in order to provide a model for the 21st century university system. The Council of Student Representatives (CSR) is a democratic means to organize effective contribution of our students for this purpose.

The Council of Student Representatives general elections are held once every two years. There are also interim elections every other year for the empty positions, if any. This year, elections will be general elections for all programs. Besides declaring opinion about all subjects regarding our university and communicating problems effectively; resolving some University-related problems, making plans for the future of the University and taking responsibility are expected from the Council of Student Representatives. For this reason, all measures are being taken in order for the Council to have a right to participate and vote in all University committees and boards, if not obstructed by law.
