Mission

The mission of the Master of Computer Engineering program at METU NCC is to educate future computer scientists and engineers by advancing computing knowledge through research, theory, and practice, while contributing to the progress of society and the public with technological innovations in computer science and engineering. The Master of Computer Engineering at METU NCC has been established to educate not only graduates of computer science and engineering but also graduates of other disciplines with a range of advanced and core foundational subjects in computer science and engineering.

Goals

The Master of Computer Engineering program at METU NCC is designed to meet the demand of both the industry and higher education in computing. The overall goal of the program is to:

  • Advance human knowledge by producing high-quality research output in computer science and engineering
  • Prepare engineers with the strong theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for jobs in industry and higher education.
  • Develop strong collaborations with local and global industry and higher education organisations to better advance community and society.

*Up to two elective courses can be taken from 4xx undergraduate technical elective courses of Computer Engineering Department. Up to two courses can be taken from other departments after approval of the departmental academic committee.

**The principal thesis advisor must be an academic from METU-NCC Computer Engineering Program; however, co-advisors may be assigned from other institutions.

*** The students should also register for the CNG 8XX course for the advisor assignment. XX is the section number for the CNG 500 course which is associated with the principal thesis advisor. For example, if the section number of the CNG 500 course is 2, the student should register for the CNG802.
