Psychology Laboratory

Psychology Laboratory

The psychology laboratory was established towards the end 2009 to help the academic staff conduct scientific studies in the areas of social, health and experimental psychology. In addition to scientific activities, the laboratory was set up with the vision that it would provide undergraduate students with the basic infrastructure and hands-on experience in experimental subjects such as Learning, Cognition and Speech Perception & Development. The laboratory houses the basic technical equipment such as audio and video recoding devices and software required to conduct experimental studies (e.g., psycholinguistics, cognition) as well as the infrastructure and setting necessary for other major research interests of the faculty (health, social psychology). It is envisaged that the scope of the activities of the psychology laboratory and the physical capacity of the psychology laboratory will be extended to include research in applied areas such as clinical psychology and driver behaviour. In addition to this, it is also aimed that the laboratory will be one of the nuclei of research activities of the psychology and interdisciplinary postgraduate programs to start off in a near future, boosting the applied/theoretical approach of our teaching philosophy.
