  2. The quartile ranking and Average JIF Percentile category of the journals in which the published articles appear are updated annually in January based on the latest WoS classification data. Therefore, it should be noted that the quartile ranking of some journals may vary at the time of award application.

METU NCC must be listed, alone or in conjunction with any other institution, as the nominee’s institutional affiliation.

  3. The amount of the cash award to be granted to different categories of authors defined in Article 3 for their publications within the scope of Article 1 is determined by the Campus Adminsitrative Board.

  4. For articles published in 2025, the award amount is 18,000 TL for those in WoS Q1 journals and 9,000 TL for those in WoS Q2 journals. The total award amount to be granted for a single article, based on the number of authors, will be calculated by multiplying the award amount set for WoS Q1 or WoS Q2 by the coefficients specified below.

  5.               Number of authors ≤ 10    : 1.0

10 < Number of authors ≤ 20    : 0.7

  1. For articles published in journals ranked in the top 5% according to the Average JIF Percentile in the Clarivate database or listed in the Nature Index, the relevant award amount is calculated by multiplying the award amount, which is based on the number of authors specified in Article 8, by a coefficient of 1.75.

  2. If the article has an international co-author (with an overseas affiliation), the award amount is multiplied by a coefficient of 1.2.

  3. The cash award will be distributed equally among the authors affiliated with METU NCC.

  4. Full-time faculty members of our university who failed to submit an application and, as a result, were excluded from the evaluation processes of the most recent Academic Human Resources (AHR) period will not be eligible to apply for the article award in the calendar year following that AHR period. However, faculty members who began full-time positions at our university during or after the last AHR application period are exempt from this restriction.

  5. In order to apply for the article award, the relevant publication must be added to the researcher’s ORCID record and must be publicly visible in the researcher’s ORCID list of publications.

  6. The guidelines outlined above apply to publications released in 2025.

  7. Articles published in 2024 and submitted for the award in 2025 will be governed by the “2024 METU Northern Cyprus Campus Publication Award Guidelines”.

The submission period for the 2025 Publication Incentive will begin on April 1, 2025, after the application system has been updated with the revised regulations.

  2. Book authors who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply for the award:

a. Full-time faculty members of METU Northern Cyprus Campus (METU NCC),

b. Full-time staff members serving in administrative positions at METU NCC,

c. Students enrolled in the METU NCC undergraduate or graduate programs,

If the book has multiple editors, the award amount is calculated by dividing the total sum by the number of editors affiliated with METU NCC.

  9. For faculty members who serve as both editors and chapter authors in a book nominated for the award, the awards specified in Articles 9 and 10 are calculated separately and the total amount is paid to the faculty member. However, if the total award amount exceeds the prize awarded to book authors in the same category, the faculty member will receive the maximum amount set for the book.

  10. If a graduate thesis is published as a book in compliance with the conditions outlined above, half of the maximum award amount for books in the same category will be granted.
