The School of Foreign Languages aims to provide the students whose level of English is below proficiency level with basic language skills so that they can pursue their undergraduate studies at our university without major difficulty. It also offers compulsory English courses for undergraduate students.
The overall program comprises grammar, reading, listening, writing and speaking components. Special materials are used to familiarize the students with the vocabulary and the types of texts they will encounter during their studies in their fields. Numerous audio-visual activities, for example, aim at developing the students’ note-taking capabilities and preparing them for the specialized language they will be using in their freshman year and thereafter. The undergraduate courses are designed to improve the students’ reading, writing and presentation skills further.
The School of Foreign Languages also offers self-study and individual study opportunities to its students. The Self-Access Center, with its computer and audio-visual facilities, provides the students with individual care from professionals and helps them improve their various language skills.
