Sensor Technology Research Project Assistant - Multiple Positions Available

As part of the project named "Smart and Mobile Vibration Monitoring for Sustainable Civil Infrastructure", graduate assistantships are available in Sustainable Environment and Energy Systems for at least 6 months. Contract can be extended upon successful performance.

Description of the project:

This project develops civil infrastructure vibration monitoring systems using modern sensor technologies involving scalable and ubiquitous data acquisition methods. The scope includes a wide variety of technologies including smartphone sensors, IoT implementations, unmanned aerial vehicles, computer vision, and -to an extent- big data analytics. If you have prior knowledge about any of these technologies you are welcome to apply.

A strong background in electrical engineering and/or computer science (or equivalent) is essential for the project.

Extensive experience in at least some of given below is required:

Internet of Things,
Programmable Boards (e.g. Arduino, Intel Edison, Raspberry Pi), Smartphone Sensors, Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems, Sensor Networks, Mobile Application Development, Database Development, Web Development, Wireless Communication, Digital Signal Processing, Image Processing, Vehicular Sensing Systems, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles.
