Announcement on Pandemic Practices for Our English Preparatory Program (EPP) Students

Dear Students,

Our University Senate has decided that the EPP will start the 2021-22 Academic Year Fall semester online as a result of multifaceted assessment and discussions.

As you know, language learning is a process that requires active participation and interaction, no matter which education method is used, and desired levels cannot be obtained by just listening to the lecture. Our English Preparatory Program, which has been operating a very successful language education process for many years, has quickly adapted to the pandemic conditions, starting from the early days of the pandemic, and has set an example that guides different institutions and organizations in conducting this remote interactive process most effectively with appropriate methods.

In accordance, the English preparatory education you will receive in the 2021-2022 Fall Semester will be of high quality. All of our lessons and office hours will be held live/synchronously. In addition to these course hours, we will be adding many asynchronous resources to our program that you, our students, can benefit from individually and that we will follow closely. In this way, we aim to bring opportunities for you to improve and practice your English to the highest possible level. When there are issues that you need help with during this period, we will be there to support you as in previous pandemic periods.

Dear students of the English Preparatory Program,

We hope that the current problems we experience with the pandemic will be solved and that we will invite all our students to our Campus in the Spring Term to continue their education and training face-to-face in the classroom, as in our pre-pandemic periods. We would like to thank you for your patience and understanding throughout this process and wish you a healthy and successful academic year.

With love
Rectorate
