ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT THE UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS WHO EXCEEDED THEIR MAXIMUM DURATION OF EDUCATION BY THE END OF THE 2023-2024 SPRING SEMESTER

According to the Implementation Procedures and Principles determined by Middle East Technical University Senate regarding the undergraduate students who exceeded their maximum duration of education within the scope of Article 44 (c) of the Law No 2547;

A) Undergraduate students who want to apply for the Additional Exam at the end of their Maximum Duration of Education;

Undergraduate students whose maximum education period has expired at the end of the 2023-2024 Spring semester can apply with FORM 1 between 21-25 October 2023 to take advantage of the additional examination right. The course(s) for which the 1st additional exam right will be used must be added to the relevant form. Students who have not applied to take advantage of the additional exam right within the specified date range will not be granted the right to apply.

Students who benefit from the additional examination right are obliged to pay the contribution fee/tuition fee* for the relevant semester.

* Students who have a maximum of 3 credit courses in order to meet the graduation conditions can benefit from the credit payment facility. Students who want to benefit from credit payment must request credit payment with the Student Petition Form available on the Intranet.

* Students who will take exams in four or more courses are required to complete their tuition fee payments for the 2024-2025 Fall semester until 27 September 2024, based on the tuition fees determined for newly enrolled students for the 2024-2025 Academic Year.

  • Relevant exams must be done face to face.
  • Students who apply with FORM 1 and only have exam rights cannot benefit from their student rights. Undergraduate students who have "applied courses" are also supposed to follow the conditions specified in Article C.

 

B) Undergraduate students who have 2 to 5 courses without taking the Additional Exams and want to benefit from the right of 4 Additional Semesters at the end of their Maximum Duration of Education;

Undergraduate students who have 2 to 5 courses remaining without taking additional exams, whose maximum duration of education has expired at the end of the 2023-2024 Spring semester, and who want to benefit from the right to 4-semester additional semesters, must apply to the Registrar's Office with FORM 2 between 16-24 September 2024.

* Students who have come to the end of their maximum duration at the end of the previous semesters and benefited from the additional exam and applied course rights in the Spring semester of the 2023-2024 Academic Year, will be entitled to 3 additional semesters if the remaining number of courses is between 2 and 5 courses. Students who want to benefit from this right must apply with FORM 2.

Students who benefit from the additional semester right must pay the registration/tuition fee for the relevant semester and register for the semester. These students benefit from student rights. Those students are required to complete their tuition fee payments for the 2024-2025 Fall semester until 27 September 2024, based on the tuition fees determined for newly enrolled students for the 2024-2025 Academic Year.

* Undergraduate students who have 2 to 5 courses can apply for the Additional Exam by filling out FORM 1 without benefitting from the right to additional semesters.

C) Undergraduate students who want to benefit from the right to take the “Applied Courses*” for one time at the end of the maximum duration of education;

Undergraduate students who want to benefit from the right to attend the applied courses for once at the end of the maximum education period should apply with FORM 3 between 16-24 September 2024.

Students who benefit from a one-time attendance right for applied courses are obliged to pay the registration/tuition fee* for the relevant semester based on the tuition fees determined for newly enrolled students for the 2024-2025 Academic Year.

Students who have a maximum of 3 credit courses to complete their degree requirements may be eligible for credit payment. Students wishing to benefit from credit payment must apply for credit payment using the Student Petition Form available on the Intranet.

The Registrar's Office will add the courses deemed appropriate for the students concerned once the forms have been approved and the tuition fees have been paid.

* The lessons that include laboratory, project, internship, graduation project, etc.
