METU Northern Cyprus Brings Success from TEKNOFEST Gaziantep
The TEKNOFEST 2020 Aviation, Space and Technology Festival was held in Gaziantep last weekend. This year's METU Cyprus team consisting of students from various branches of engineering competed under the name HELLY-800 and went far in the Festival.
The team HELLY-800, which consists of Songül Uslu, Ezgi Handan Savaş, Bashir Abdi Ali and Muhammad Talha Ahmed Nasari, came third in the TEKNOFEST 2020 Helicopter Design Competition. The METU Cyprus team prepared for the competition under the guidance of Dr. Anna Prach.
The team HELLY-800 was selected as one of the 11 finalists of the TEKNOFEST 2020 and presented its design in Gaziantep. A total of 117 teams applied to participate in the Teknofest Helicopter Design Competition. HELLY-800 presented a design of a high-performance helicopter possessing an inclined rotor system with a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) and short take-off and landing (STOL) capability for fast cargo delivery.
