Computer Engineering Students Take 2nd Place Across Turkey and Rank 175th Worldwide

The METU Northern Cyprus Campus team consisting of Computer Engineering students has
been awarded second place across Turkey and ranked 175th worldwide in this year’s
IEEEXtreme 14.0, the 24-hour hackathon and competitive programming challenge.

IEEEXtreme is a global competition that challenges students to work together as a team to solve a range of programming problems competitively against another team in a 24-hour time span.

IEEE student societies which run at leading universities all around the world and which are acclaimed for their challenging and innovative work are represented in the world rankings.

The IEEEXtreme 14.0, which was held on 24th October 2020, became the largest-scale event of its kind to date with over 3,700 registered teams, 1,451 supervisors from 63 countries and 773 universities joining the organization.

METU NCC students who took part in the competition are Zeki Can Budin, Mustafa Aygün, Oğuz Kağan Altaş and Askar Bozcan.
