The e-signature regulations that will be implemented from September 2016, as announced previously, also apply to the TRNC universities.
Not everyone is required to obtain an e-signature. However, all Turkish citizens and TRNC citizens who intend to submit a project to TÜBİTAK or take part in a TÜBİTAK project as a project manager, researcher or as an advisor (those who have to sign the project) need to have an e-signature.
Turkish passport holders need to submit their national identity number given by the state of Turkish Republic in order to get an e-signature.
Northern Cypriot passport holders and citizens of other countries must submit their YÖKSİS numbers along with their passport numbers. As an additional requirement, they need to submit the copies of the relevant pages of their passports. The passports must be valid for a minimum of one year from the date of application.
Applications should be submitted through official channels.
