Dear Students and Staff,

Tuesday, 10 November 2020 marks the 82nd anniversary of the loss of our Commander-in-Chief and Head Teacher Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, whose progressive reforms shaped modern Turkey. On this significant day, a program in memory of the Great Leader Atatürk, the founder of the contemporary and democratic Republic of Turkey, will be held on campus.
I kindly ask you to attend this meaningful ceremony.
Since the Commemoration Ceremony of Atatürk is an event included in our academic calendar, there will be no classes or exams on 10 November 2020 Tuesday between 8.40-10.30.
November 10th Program:
09.05: Moment of Silence (in front of Atatürk’s Monument)
09.30: - Slide Show by ODTÜ GİSAM (
           - “The Impact of Atatürk's Principles and Reforms on Other States” by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hasan Cicioğlu (
Note:  Tha activities at 09.30 will be online events. The links to the ODTÜ GİSAM presentation and the video of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hasan Cicioğlu's speech will be sent separately on Tuesday. 
Academic staff members attending the ceremony in front of Atatürk’s Monument are required to wear their academic dresses. Please note that participants attending the ceremony are expected to follow the pandemic precautionary measures (wearing masks, physical distancing, etc.).
