Who can apply?
You can apply if you:
• are a graduate or last year (senior year) student of an accredited secondary education institution (high school, lyceum or equivalent);
• hold citizenship of countries other than Turkey or the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (Citizens of Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, can check the following web site to find out if they satisfy the requirements to apply as international student http://kkk.odtu.edu.tr/tanitim/31/basvuru_ve_kabul.html );
• satisfy the minimum score requirements of an acceptable international or country based examination.
Required Documents & Online Application
Please ensure that you have all the information and files ready for uploading, before you start your online application process (you will NOT be allowed to save your information temporarily and continue at another time).
• High School Diploma: A copy of a high school diploma in English or in Turkish.
• Official Transcript : A copy of official transcript and its translated copy (English or Turkish).
• Exam Result : A copy of the exam result that is being used for application (Please see the "Acceptable Exam Results" section for details.)

If you get accepted and choose to join one of the following undergraduate programs, you will be asked at the time of the registration to provide official documents to support the information you have declared during the application process. You will not be allowed to register if you fail to submit the originals, attested by Ministry of Education & Turkish Embassy or if inconsistencies are identified in the information you have provided.

Acceptable Examinations and Minimum Scores to be Eligible to Apply
General Examinations:
SAT Reasoning: A minimum total SAT1 score of 1000 out of 1600 in "Math" and "Critical Reading" exams, with a minimum "Math" score of 600 out of 800 for Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, and Computer Education and Instructional Technology programs.
Cambridge International AS and A Levels Qualifications: A minimum of two A levels relevant to the program applied for, with a minimum grade of B in one of them; in addition, a minimum of 280 points from all A or AS levels taken (with A- level tariff rates: A*=140, A=120, B=100, C=80) should be secured. AS-level (Advanced Subsidiary Level) may be considered in lieu of a nonessential A-level with half tariff rates.
International Baccalaureate (IB): A certificate of International Baccalaureate with a minimum total score of 28.
International Science Olympiads: A gold, silver or bronze medal in the International Science Olympiads recognized and participated by TUBITAK (The Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey).
Examinations Given by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) of Turkey:
Examination for Students from Turkic Republics (TCS): A minimum score of 50 in the Basic Learning Skills Test of TCS held outside Turkey.
Student Selection and Placement Examination (ÖSYS): Having obtained scores that would be sufficient for placement to the program applied for in the ÖSYS of the previous year. Acceptable Country Based Examinations and Minimum Eligibity Scores:

South Korea : A minimum standard score of 400 out of 800 in the College Scholastic Aptitude Test (CSAT) organized by Korea Institute of Curriculum & Evaluation (KICE) in the stream related to the program applied for. |

Sri Lanka : At least three subjects relevant to the program applied for in the Sri Lanka GCE Advanced Level Examination with minimum grades BBC. |

Syria : General Secondary Education Certificate with a minimum exam score of 70% in the stream related to the program applied for. |

Tanzania : A "Division Two" pass (pass in General Studies, not less than two principal passes, and not more than 12 points in three subjects taken at the principal level) in the stream related to the program applied for in the Tanzanian Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (ACSE). |

Tunisia : Baccalaureate of Secondary Education in the stream related to the program applied for, with a minimum score of 12 for the Literature stream and 14 for other streams. |

Uganda : At least three Advanced Level principal passes in the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education Examination (UACE) with a minimum grade of C in two subjects relevant to the program applied for. |

Ukraine : A minimum average grade of 165 out of 200 in at least two subjects relevant to the program applied for, in the Ukrainian "External Independent Test (OZN)". |

United Arab Emirates : General Secondary Education Certificate with a minimum exam score of 80% in the stream related to the program applied for. |

Yemen : General Secondary Education Certificate with a minimum exam score of 80% in the stream related to the program applied for. |
 |
Zimbabwe : A minimum of one "B" and two "C" grades from three ZIMSEC A-Levels in the subjects related to the program applied for. |
Evaluation and Results
Candidates' application documents will be evaluated by the relevant Admission Committee. Students accepted to a program will receive a Letter of Acceptance from METU.
Important note: Please note that it is at METU's sole discretion to review and rank candidates, and to admit and place them within program quotas, space permitting. Meeting the application criteria does not guarantee admission to the programs.
Language Requirements
At METU Northern Cyprus Campus the medium of instruction is English. Students must submit the result of an approved English proficiency examination in order to pursue the degree program they are accepted in. Students whose English proficiency is not at the level required by METU are placed in the one-year English Language Preparatory Program.
The minimum passing score of METU English Proficiency Examination (METU-EPE) is 60 for all METU undergraduate programs, except the Dual Diploma Programs with State University of New York (SUNY) campuses.
